Carol Kent Shares Six Choices for Living "A New Kind of Normal"

I was blessed to be able to attend the annual women's conference held at Century Baptist this year and I must admit, I was completely blown away by the amazing speaker who had quite a story to tell. Gwen Damlo from KNDR, Carol Kent and myself. The conference kicked off on Friday evening with a wonderful time of praise and worship. Shortly afterwards every lady in attendance listened intently as speaker and author, Carol Kent told the story of when her only child, Jason Kent was arrested for murder. She went on to tell us about the reality of living "a new kind of normal" that included not only her son's conviction but his sentence of life in prison without the possibility of parole. Honestly, I had a tough time comprehending how a devout Christian could carry out such a horrendous act but one would have to know the whole story to understand why he did. Matthew West - A True Story Kind of Guy

ONE OF MY FAVORITE PHRASES in the English language is "based on a true story." I love movies and books that are based on actual events. When I know a story really happened and the events really did take place, it has so much more meaning to me and causes me to think about it so much more than something that is just made up. I think Christian recording artist, Matthew West must feel the same way because a lot of his songs are based on true stories. I recently got the privilege of seeing  Matthew West live in concert when he brought his Into the Light tour to Bismarck, North Dakota. He along with Jason Castro and Sidewalk Prophets put on a great show - the gymnasium as Shiloh Christian school was completely packed! While the whole concert was fantastic, the most memorable parts to me were Matthew West reading true life stories and singing songs that he wrote based on actual events.
